Join the Great California Shake Out on Oct. 21

On October 21, UCOP will be joining over 6.6 million Californians in the largest earthquake drill ever – “The Great California ShakeOut.” At 10:21 a.m., the floor wardens or the PA system at UCOP-occupied buildings will announce an “Earthquake Drill.” All UCOP employees will be requested to participate and practice “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” for 60 seconds.

UC enrolling more first-generation and low-income students

"The numbers in this analysis demonstrate that UC remains true to its charter as a public institution," President Yudof said during an Oct.1 visit to Grant High School in Sacramento. Roughly 39 percent of all undergrads enrolled in fall 2010 were from low-income families.
