Stress management: Wellness workshop today at Franklin

Man in clouds

Are you feeling more stress in your life lately? Don’t miss the latest brown bag in UCOP’s Wellness Program series on health and wellness, cosponsored by Kaiser Permanente’s HealthWorks to help OP staff take charge of their health and fitness.

This month’s topic, Stress Management, will help you understand how stress occurs and how it affects your mind and body. Two sessions are offered as follows, both 12 to 1 p.m. (click on link to add events to your calendar):

Not all stress is bad, but when you have too much of it or don’t know how to control it, it can wreak havoc in your work life, your home life and take a toll on your relationships. The workshop presents information about the nature of stress and how it affects your health. It will offer tips on how to manage your stress as well as practice in methods of relaxation.

The workshops, taught by Kaiser health professionals, include fun exercises you can use in your daily routine. There’s no need to sign up; just show up. (Note: These classes do not qualify for UC Living Well incentive points.)

Each month’s workshop features a new topic that will be repeated at both Franklin and Kaiser locations, and all OP staff and retirees and their families are invited to attend.

Look for more workshops in new topics coming through December in the Link online calendar and in future issues of Link.
