If you’re surveyed, please share your perspective
The fourth systemwide UC Staff Engagement Survey will begin this week. About 20,000 of UC’s non-represented staff will be randomly selected to participate. This survey builds upon a growing body of valuable information about the experiences, views and needs of UC’s non-represented (policy-covered) staff.
The UC Staff Engagement Survey was developed by the Council of University of California Staff Assemblies (CUCSA) in collaboration with systemwide Human Resources’ Employee Relations department and Willis Towers Watson, a national firm specializing in workforce opinion survey research. The first survey was conducted in 2012, and subsequent surveys have been conducted regularly every two years since 2015.
“UC’s Staff Engagement Survey helps us take a clear, honest look at what it’s like to work for UC,” says Vice President of Systemwide Human Resources Dwaine B. Duckett. “We want to thank UC staff for breaking participation records with our last survey. The more feedback we receive, the more we can continue to improve.”
Frequently asked questions
How will I know if I’ve been selected to participate?
If you’ve been selected to participate in the survey, you will receive an email from Willis Towers Watson — the firm conducting the survey on UC’s behalf — with an invitation to take the survey.
Why is the survey only open to non-represented staff?
Union-represented employees do not participate in the survey because UC receives their feedback through their union representatives during the collective bargaining process.
When does the survey period end?
The survey closes on Friday, June 7.
Can I really be candid? Who will see my answers?
The survey is completely confidential. Individual responses to the survey and personally identifying information will not be shared with UC.
