October Global Entry event canceled
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Customs and Border Protection has canceled all Global Entry Mobile Enrollment events for the remainder of 2019. Unfortunately, this includes the UCOP event planned for October.
The good news? If you’re still interested in obtaining Global Entry status, you can do so by following some simple steps.
Step 1: Get conditional approval
1. Confirm you are eligible for Global Entry
2. Create a Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) account
Go to the Homeland Security Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) website account and select Get Started > Continue > Create an Account. Regardless of age, each traveler must have an individual account.
3. Complete the Global Entry Application
When you have created your TTP account, the page will direct you to the application process. If you already have a TTP account, log in to complete the application. A $100 non-refundable application fee is required.
You will be notified of whether you have received conditional approval via email. Once you have received confirmation of your conditional approval, you may proceed with setting up your interview.
Note: You must complete your interview within 365 days of receiving your Conditional Approval. If you do not do so, your application will be canceled and no refunds will be granted.
Step 2: Set up your interview
Option 1: Schedule an interview online
You can set up an appointment online for an interview at the SFO Airport Global Entry Center or another participating location. Appointment availability varies by location, and there can be a long wait at some locations.
To make an online appointment, log in to your TTP account. From your dashboard, select “Schedule Interview.” Select the Global Entry Enrollment Center, then select a date and time for your interview. Once your interview is confirmed, your application status will be “Interview Scheduled.”
Option 2: Walk in
You can come to the SFO Global Entry Center without an appointment and place your name on a waiting list. As this wait may be several hours and there is no guarantee of being seen, this option is not recommended.
Option 3: Return from an international flight
When you arrive at the SFO, OAK, SJC, or SMF airport from an international flight, follow the signs for “Enrollment on Arrival,” located in the arrivals terminal. View terminals and hours.
TSA Pre-Check Members
If you enrolled in the TSA Pre-Check program at UCOP in March 2015, your credential will expire in March 2020. To renew TSA Pre-Check instead of enrolling in Global Entry, visit this site.
