How to vote

Voting is quick and easy! Here’s how:

  1. Visit the STAT Madness website
  2. Scroll down until you see the tabs that say “Vote” and “View Full Bracket”
  3. Select “Vote”
  4. Scroll down until you see UC Irvine vs. Koch Institute (bracket 4 of 4)
  5. Select the checkmark on top of UC Irvine to vote!

Voting closes on Thursday, March 26, at 8:59 p.m., Pacific Time.

A life-preserving vaccine

In a nutshell, UC Irvine and UC Irvine Health researchers found a weakness in Clostridium difficile (commonly known as C.diff), a pathogen that threatens immune-compromised people in hospitals, nursing homes and other settings. This discovery may lead to a potential vaccine. It was originally published in the academic journal Nature Structural & Molecular Biology. Read a detailed description of the research.
