UCOP Anti-Racism Task Force focus groups and survey
In June, President Emeritus Napolitano announced the creation of an Office of the President Anti-Racism Task Force led by Cheryl Lloyd, interim vice president of Systemwide Human Resources, and Chief Risk Officer and Chief Diversity Officer Yvette Gullatt, vice president for Graduate and Undergraduate Affairs and vice provost for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
Our task force formed in July with 62 employees representing all divisions, the Office of the Secretary and Chief of Staff to the Regents, Academic Senate, Employee Engagement and Diversity Group and UCOP affinity groups. Work was divided into two stages with members focused on five key areas: hiring, recruitment, retention, promotion and workplace culture. In the first phase, which ended July 31, President Emeritus Napolitano shared perspectives on the current UCOP environment with President Drake. The second phase, which ends November 30, will provide President Drake with task force findings and recommendations.
The Anti-Racism Task Force needs you
To complete its second phase, the task force is looking for your help!
Join a focus group
Beginning on October 12, we will be hosting focus groups to gather employee perspectives on the current state of UCOP in our five key areas. Each focus group will be led by an equity, diversity and inclusion expert; results will be compiled and presented to the Task Force to maintain participant anonymity. To participate, please email your name, job title and typical office location (Oakland, Riverside, Sacramento, Washington, D.C.) to anti-racismtaskforce@ucop.edu.
Take the employee survey
All employees will soon receive an emailed survey from Willis Towers Watson, the firm that also manages our Employee Engagement Survey. All responses will be anonymous. Your thoughtful answers will help us to better serve all staff.
Thank you in advance for your willingness to assist the Anti-Racism Task Force in creating a more inclusive workplace at UCOP. For more information about the task force, visit our website. For questions regarding focus group participation, email anti-racismtaskforce@ucop.edu.
