Open Enrollment begins this Thursday, Oct. 28
This year’s Open Enrollment will take place from 8 a.m. on Oct. 28 through 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19. In 2022, UC will continue to offer the same high-quality benefits as last year for faculty and staff, with a few important changes, including increases in medical plan premiums ranging from $0 to $47 per month.
Visit the redesigned Open Enrollment website and meet ALEX!
Our new Open Enrollment website is easy to use and works great on your computer, tablet or phone. Along with information about this year’s choices, changes and costs, you’ll find a link to UC’s new online benefits counselor, ALEX. ALEX gets to know you, so you get just the information you need. If you’d like help in Spanish, check out ALEX Go.
Open Enrollment information from UC should arrive in your mailbox later this week, a bit later than usual. In the meantime, you can download the Open Enrollment overview brochure (PDF) and information booklet (PDF).

Helpful, but a couple of comments:
1. It would be good to know that Alex is going to “talk” (loudly) to you. If you are in a shared/public space, having this sprung on you is less than ideal.
2. The estimated cost at the end is not specified in terms of monthly or annually. Obviously, this makes a huge difference.
Also, the ucpath.universityofcalifornia.edu link does not work.
Hi Fredye,
Thank you for taking the time to try out ALEX and share your feedback. We’re glad you found ALEX helpful, and we’ve passed along your comments to Systemwide Human Resources.
Just a note that ALEX Go may be a good choice when you’re in a shared/public space. It is a streamlined version designed for your smartphone and does not include audio. We checked out the link to UCPath, and it directs you to the pre-login screen so you can choose your location before signing in.
Thank you again.
