Managing Implicit Bias: Extending Your Learning
April 21, 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.
In this course, you’ll debrief your experiences of completing the UC Managing Implicit Bias series of eCourses. Join UCOP colleagues to discuss challenges and strategies for managing implicit bias. Participants will walk away with a greater understanding of their own implicit biases and their ability to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion wherever they are.
Gartner Webinar: The Role of the Manager in Building a Diverse, Equitable and Inclusive Organization
April 6, 8 – 9 a.m.
Managers can make or break your DEI strategy. They play a critical role in supporting workforce diversity, building inclusion on their teams and contributing to a truly equitable organization. However, few managers excel at this important role, as only 13% of HR leaders say managers at their organization are very effective at promoting diversity. Join this session to learn what the best managers are doing differently to help translate your organization’s DEI strategy into real outcomes.
Belonging and Inclusion Toward an Anti-Racist Organization
May 24, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This workshop is an opportunity to deeply explore the application and behaviors of the UCOP Core Competency of Belonging and Inclusion. While not a new concept, the notion of creating inclusive workspaces where each person feels connected and a sense of belonging has increased exponentially with the increasing normalcy of remote engagement and our country’s continued tension around race. In this workshop, you’ll learn relevant facts and concrete examples of change, then explore how to ask the hard questions needed for change.
