Reminder of UCOP office closures for winter break

Information about winter break for UCOP offices is listed below. Please note that each department head may identify essential services that must be must be maintained during the break and plan for staffing accordingly. All UCOP offices will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023.

UCPath Center staff

The UCPath Center will continue critical operations in support of UC employees during the winter closure. UCPath employees will be working normal business operations during this period and should check with their supervisors regarding their work schedules. UCPath offices will be fully closed for paid holidays on Dec. 23, 26, 30 and Jan. 2.

Oakland, Sacramento, Washington, D.C., and Livermore staff

For the winter break, these offices will observe a total of three curtailment days per normal practice. Offices will be closed from Friday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Jan. 2, as follows:

UC holidays (paid): Dec. 23, 26, 30 and Jan. 2
Curtailment closure (unpaid): Dec. 27, 28 and 29

Timecoding for curtailment days

Eligible employees can use vacation, compensatory time or leave without pay to cover curtailment days. There will be no required days without pay for the 2022 curtailment. If you haven’t yet accumulated enough vacation leave by December to cover those days, arrangements can be made for you to borrow against future vacation time.
