UCOP holds first ERG Summit

Employee Resource Group Summit participants

This month, UCOP held its first-ever Employee Resource Group (ERG) Summit with the theme and call to action, Building Blocks of Belonging.

Led by the Office of Workplace Inclusion and Belonging and supported by UCOP Human Resources, the event brought together ERG leaders, executive sponsors, ERG partners and UCOP senior leadership.

The Summit began with an in-person session on Dec. 1. UC President Michael V. Drake and UCOP Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer Rachael Nava delivered remarks. Sara Sperling, co-founder and partner at Oxegen Consulting, provided the keynote address. The afternoon was highlighted by a session in which participants discussed the value of their ERGs with Lisa Walker, senior equity consultant at The Equity Consulting Group, Inc.

On Dec. 6, the Summit continued over Zoom with keynote remarks from Aditi Chakravarty, chief diversity officer, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Julian Ryu, managing director, Strategy and Program Management Office, led the breakout session, Connecting Strategy to Action to Impact. E.
