UCOP Health Care Facilitator Sharon Adesokan

UCOP Human Resources is pleased to announce that Sharon Adesokan is UCOP’s first health care facilitator (HCF).

HCFs help employees navigate their UC-sponsored health care plans and serve as a liaison between members and the plans — and when needed, as members’ advocates. This role can be particularly beneficial to people who have complicated medical conditions and need personalized help with understanding or working with their health plans. HCFs are knowledgeable counselors who provide confidential one-on-one assistance in resolving medical, dental and vision plan issues, such as understanding covered services, gaining access to care and addressing claims or billing concerns. There is no charge for consulting an HCF.

“Navigating through health care plans and understanding the complexities can be challenging. In addition to providing clarification of how the plans work, I will partner with the UCOP community by offering an empathetic ear, guidance and resources,” says Sharon.

Sharon has worked at UCOP for seven years. In her previous role as a benefits analyst, she collaborated with colleagues and retirees on a variety of retirement benefit topics. She looks forward to the opportunity to focus exclusively on employee health and welfare.

“I enjoy meeting new colleagues and learning about their families and other interests. What inspires me is the gratification I receive in knowing I have made a difference by providing peace of mind to my community.”
