UCOP begins new multi-year budget and planning process
The UCOP Budget and Finance (BFD) and UCOP Human Resources (HR) teams will kick off a new multi-year budget and planning process (MYP) later this month that builds on efforts piloted last year.
This MYP is intended to:
- Enable more informed decision-making and long-term planning in the budget development process
- Provide more support for the annual budget development process
- Better understand future resource requirements and link division budgets to broader UCOP goals, as reflected in the newly launched strategic framework and presidential priorities (PDF)
What’s next
In the next two weeks, HR and BFD will ask division leaders and chiefs of staff to complete brief information-gathering documents. Their responses will enable the development of a three-year budget forecast and a workforce plan. The MYP process will kick off in late June and close in September. UC Operations leadership will update the Board of Regents on these development efforts later this fall.
