Classes for personal and professional growth

Kick off your new year with classes that can help you at home and in the community in addition to within your career!

Subtle Acts of Exclusion
Jan. 17, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
The term “microaggression” has become widely used, yet it is just as widely misunderstood. Join us as we reframe microaggressions as subtle acts of exclusion (SAE). During this workshop, we will reflect on socialization and its impact on our outlook, attitudes, and behaviors; explore the SAE framework; and participate in group discussions on normalizing interrupting SAEs and engaging colleagues in discussion.

Navigating Change and Transition
Jan. 26, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
The only constant thing is change: Heraclitus, who lived 100 years before Plato, knew this, and it’s still true in today’s world. This workshop will explore the human response to change and the stages within the transition process. Participants will expand their capability to successfully navigate personal and professional changes while utilizing William Bridges’ Transition Model and Psychological Flexibility framework.

Difficult Conversations
Jan. 31, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
In this highly interactive course, you’ll learn core principles to successfully navigate disagreements and apply them through practice role-playing. By the end of the workshop, you’ll feel more confident in approaching difficult conversations with anyone in your life. This course is taught by highly-rated instructor Leal Nelson, president and founder of Nelson Leadership Inc.
