New FAQ provides more details about our UCOP-wide EDI goals

The Unified Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Anti-Racism Framework goals set a strong foundation for UCOP through a structure that will increase leadership engagement and accountability in EDI work; equip managers and supervisors in making data-informed decisions to advance EDI efforts organization-wide; and provide tools and resources for all staff to continuously learn about and practice anti-racist behaviors. All divisions, managers, supervisors and staff will participate through 2025.

In February, we held an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Department Town Hall, at which advisory group members discussed the initial four framework goals. UCOP staff actively participated in discussions on the framework and its role at UCOP. To address questions raised during that discussion, the EDI Department has partnered with the Anti-Racism Advisory Group to develop an FAQ. We will continue to update this living document as we work together to implement the goals throughout our organization.

Review the UCOP Unified EDI Framework and UCOP-wide EDI Goals for context, then read the frequently asked questions here (the FAQ requires Box log in).

Sample FAQ topics

  • Why UCOP is centering race as part of the EDI Unified Framework
  • Types of data that will be available in the EDI Workforce Dashboard when it is launched to division leaders and subsequently managers, supervisors and staff (gender identity and race and ethnicity data across the topics of hiring, career mobility and retention)
  • How anti-racism learning opportunities identified by staff will not be evaluated or scored
  • How staff will be engaged as part of setting divisional EDI objectives

The next staff engagement opportunity around the EDI Unified Framework is a manager and supervisor meeting on Friday, April 19, from 9 – 10 a.m. Event details were sent via the managers and supervisors listserv; for questions contact edi@ucop.edu.
