Dr. Nicolas Bob, FSAP postdoctoral fellow, is leading a series on building and maintaining healthy habits.

The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), administered by UCSF psychologists and doctoral interns, provides individual counseling, manager and supervisor consultations, well-being-related training, and other helpful services to UCOP staff who live within California.

This week, FSAP postdoctoral fellow Nicolas Bob (aka Dr. Bob) will host the second of a two-part webinar series focused on helping UCOP staff at all locations build and maintain habits for personal growth and transformation.

Lasting Change: Advanced Strategies for Habit Maintenance
Sept. 13, 12 – 1 p.m. (PT)
In the second part of our webinar series, we’ll focus on solidifying habits for long-term success, including discovering and adopting strategies to ensure that newly formed habits lead to long-term change. Get the knowledge and tools you need to make your habits stick! Among our techniques will be reflective journaling exercises — please come prepared with a pen and paper to participate.

Workshop highlights:

  • Learn advanced retention strategies: Discover the most effective techniques to keep your habits robust and resilient against disruptions.
  • Adopt and manage cues: Learn how to identify and utilize environmental cues that can help fortify your daily routines.
  • Build resilience: Understand how to bounce back from lapses and reinforce your commitment to your habits.

Note: You are welcome to attend even if you were not able to attend the first session. Advice will be applicable to all.

More about Dr. Nicolas Bob

Nicolas Bob (he/him) is an FSAP postdoctoral fellow. He obtained his doctoral and master’s degrees (PsyD, M.A.) in clinical psychology from John F. Kennedy School of Psychology at National University in Pleasant Hill, Calif., and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UC Berkeley.

Dr. Bob completed his predoctoral internship at Heritage Clinic in Pasadena, Calif., where he specialized in supporting older adults from diverse backgrounds. He has also worked in several community mental health settings and a medical setting, supporting youth, adults, couples and families.

Dr. Bob believes in helping clients connect to their values and approaches therapy from a nonjudgmental, culturally humble stance. His interest in joining the FSAP team was sparked by a passion for supporting teams and individuals within an organizational setting. He is grateful for the lives he crosses paths with and strives to remind his clients and colleagues that they are not alone.
