UCOP EDI Workforce Dashboard now available to all UCOP staff

The UCOP EDI Department, in collaboration with UCOP Human Resources, is pleased to announce that following many months of development and internal testing, the UCOP EDI Workforce Dashboard is now available for all UCOP staff to use.

About the UCOP EDI Dashboard

The dashboard was developed in response to recommendations in the 2020 UCOP Anti-Racism Task Force (ARTF) Report. It addresses a strategic objective in the UCOP Strategic Framework: “strengthen an inclusive UC workforce and community.”

Its goals are to:

  • Better understand the current UCOP workforce and history of hiring, promotions and retention
  • Help people managers identify trends
  • Give people managers the ability to reflect on potential variables contributing to data trends and develop strategies with their Human Resources business partners (HRBPs) and the UCOP EDI Department to enhance strategies for advancing a culture of inclusion
  • Inform and support UCOP’s EDI Unified Framework

For more information about how the data is compiled, read the document “Frequently Asked Questions for Academic & Staff Employees – Self-Identification Surveys.”

Required training

To ensure all staff have a shared understanding of the dashboard’s purpose and value, everyone must take the required training before using it. The training has three modules (~ 10 minutes each) and provides examples of how to use the dashboard to drive actions to advance a culture of inclusion.

To access the training modules, log in to the UC Learning Center and search for: EDI Workforce Dashboard Training_Career Mobility; EDI Workforce Dashboard Training_Hiring; EDI Workforce Dashboard Training_Retention.

Alternately, you can use these three links:

After you complete all three modules, you will receive an email from Natalie Rios, administrative officer, within five business days, providing you with access to the dashboard. (Note: Access will not be granted from Dec. 23, 2024, to Jan. 3, 2025, due to the winter holidays and curtailment.)

For help accessing the learning modules, contact lhr-ucoplearninganddevelopment-sa@ucop.edu.

Data responsibility

  1. The EDI Workforce Dashboard provides quantitative data and represents just one data point that identifies trends. It is important to collaborate with your HRPB or the EDI Department to reflect on the data and develop strategies for increasing workplace inclusiveness.
  2. To ensure employee privacy and confidentiality, divisions with smaller counts on the dashboard will have their numbers rounded so that employees are not identifiable.
  3. Employees are responsible for using dashboard data in accordance with UC Policy, particularly the University of California Anti-Discrimination Policy (PDF), as well as state and federal law, which prohibit basing job-related actions on an individual’s actual or perceived protected category.
