Make a difference at UCOP: Join the OPSA Steering Committee
Are you passionate about improving the workplace, building community and amplifying the voice of UCOP staff? Apply to join the Office of the President Staff Assembly (OPSA) Steering Committee!
The OPSA Steering Committee is a team of seven to 15 volunteer staff members dedicated to promoting the interest and welfare of all career employees. We support UC’s mission by encouraging communication between staff, UCOP administration and other members of the university community on matters of interest to staff employees, in accordance with California laws and Regental policy. Our activities provide forums where staff at all levels can discuss issues of mutual concern and offer opinions and recommendations on policies, processes and programs. OPSA highlights in 2024-2025
With the support of our executive sponsors — UC System Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Katherine S. Newman and General Counsel and Senior Vice President Legal Affairs Charlie Robinson — OPSA was proud to lead and collaborate on several impactful initiatives this year. They included:
- Career Panel: Leveraging Diverse Skills and Experiences in IT Careers
- Demystifying the Promotion Process, produced in partnership with PACSW
- Getting to Know You: Academic Senate Office – part of a series spotlighting OP departments to connect the OP community
- A Conversation with Regent Sarris, produced in partnership with NAIPISA
These events are examples of how OPSA fosters professional growth, cross-departmental collaboration and leadership opportunities.
