Managing Psychologically Safe Teams

Research shows that a culture of psychological safety is the top determinant of team success. But what is psychological safety and what power do we have to influence the working conditions of our teams? Join us in this workshop designed for managers as we explore psychological safety and the benefits of incorporating it into your team culture.
Career Development Tools
Dec. 16, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Help your team learn how to grow their skills by learning how to coach them on using LinkedIn Learning and My UC Career. In this workshop, we’ll review these tools’ capabilities and how to make the most of them. We’ll also share best practices for building your story-driven LinkedIn profile and brand. Can’t attend? This course is open to all employees, so encourage your team to participate.

GROWing Your Check–In Conversations for Managers
Jan. 14, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
GROW is a popular coaching framework used worldwide for problem solving, goal setting and performance improvement. This interactive session allows managers to discuss and practice using the GROW framework as a strategy and tool to support engaging STEP checkpoint conversations. Note: The e-course “GROWing your Checkpoint Conversations” must be taken before this class.
Creating an Inclusive Culture: Success in the Workplace for Newer Professionals — New course!
Jan. 15, 1 pm – 2 pm
Sign up with your new and early-career employees for this new training focused on learning to thrive in today’s evolving workplace. Through a mix of practical guidance and concrete examples, employees and their managers will learn the unwritten norms that shape workplace success, from communication and meeting etiquette to collaboration, professional presence and work habits. The session also highlights the unique strengths newer professionals bring to organizations and offers strategies to bridge gaps, build mutual understanding and foster a culture where employees at all levels can grow, contribute meaningfully and succeed.
Navigating Change and Transitions
Jan. 21, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
As a people manager, learning to adeptly react to change and to guide your employees through it is key to your role. In this workshop, you’ll explore the human response to change, discover stages within the transition process, and expand your capability to successfully navigate personal and professional changes while utilizing William Bridges’ Transition Model and Psychological Flexibility framework.
Subtle Acts of Exclusion
Jan. 27, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
“Microaggressions” aka subtle acts of exclusion (SAE) are unfortunately present in every workplace. As a manager or supervisor, it’s particularly important for you to learn what SAE’s are and how to address them. In this session, we’ll explore the SAE framework, learn how to interrupt SAEs, engage colleagues in discussion and reflect on how our socialization impacts our outlook, attitudes and behavior.
