UCOP’s holiday and floating flex-weeks for 2026
Interim UCOP Chief Human Resources Officer Dianna Henderson sent the following message to all UCOP staff on Dec. 18, 2025:
Dear UCOP colleagues,
UCOP’s holiday and floating flex-week program will continue in 2026, with the first full week of January as the first designated holiday flex-week of the year.
The flex-week program complements our anchor day schedule, offering flexibility alongside the opportunities for connection, collaboration and community-building provided by established days in the office together. As we learn and grow, the flex-week program may evolve to support better ways of working together. We’ll provide advance notice of any changes.
Holiday flex-week guidance
UCOP employees have three designated weeks per year where on-site work is optional. For most UCOP employees, the holiday flex-weeks for 2026 will be:
- Jan. 5-9, 2026 (the first full week of January)
- May 25-29, 2026 (Memorial Day holiday is May 25)
- Nov. 23-27, 2026 (Thanksgiving holidays are Nov. 26-27)
Floating flex-week guidance
UCOP employees can choose to take one floating flex-week in 2026 to work anywhere in the U.S., subject to job duties, core on-site operational needs, and supervisor approval of timing. For Systemwide Shared Services (RASC and UCPath) teams, Labor Day week (Sept. 7-11), will be a shared remote work week for staff in lieu of a floating flex-week.

If you have questions about your schedule, contact your manager. For additional questions about flex-week guidance, please contact your HR business partner.
Sincerely,
Dianna Henderson
Interim UCOP Chief Human Resources Officer
