UCOP’s Information Technology Services sub-division is now Digital Innovation & Technology (DigIT). The new name reflects the organization’s evolution and its continued role in advancing the UC mission and strengthening digital experiences across the university.

Over the past decade, technology has become central to teaching, research and service at UC. As its role has expanded, the name Information Technology Services no longer fully reflected the organization’s growing strategic impact. Digital Innovation & Technology signals a forward-looking vision focused on service, innovation and leadership.

DigIT provides the systems, infrastructure and expertise that enable teaching, learning and research across the university. Its focus extends beyond infrastructure to the full digital experience of the UC community, with an emphasis on intuitive, accessible and responsive tools. The name also reflects a culture of creativity and problem-solving, while maintaining a strong commitment to reliable infrastructure, security and high-quality service.

The transition to DigIT marks a broader role in driving digital progress at UC — strengthening infrastructure, enhancing digital experiences and supporting the future of teaching and research.
