For people managers: Managing Psychologically Safe Teams
April 17, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Research shows that a culture of psychological safety is the top determinant of team success. In this workshop, designed for managers, we’ll learn the nuts and bolts of psychological safety and our power to influence our team’s working conditions. We’ll explore the 4 Stages of Psychological Safety and behaviors associated with each; assess our teams’ culture and behaviors that contribute to or reduce psychological safety and learn to keep a pulse on individual psychological safety through the BICEPS framework.
Subtle Acts of Exclusion
April 22, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
The term “microaggression” has become widely used, yet it is just as widely misunderstood. Join us as we reframe microaggressions as subtle acts of exclusion (SAE). Explore the SAE framework, learn how to interrupt SAEs, engage colleagues in discussion and reflect on how our socialization impacts our outlook, attitudes and behavior.
Psychological Skills for Managing Stress and Change
April 28, 1 – 2 p.m.
Join Dr. Ana Dolatabadi of the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program for this special workshop on building practical skills to help you regulate stress, maintain perspective and access your thinking during challenging times. The session will explore strategies for staying steady amid multiple stressors, caring for yourself in sustainable ways and finding moments of connection and meaning within your community. You’ll leave with concrete tools to support your well-being while continuing to meet the demands of work and life.
UCOP Well-being Lunch & Chat: Four Simple Agreements, One Powerful Shift
May 1, 12:10 – 12:55 p.m.
Our lives are shaped by the agreements we make — often without us realizing it. Through social conditioning, or “domestication,” we learn rules, judgments and beliefs that influence how we see ourselves and others. In “The Four Agreements,” Don Miguel Ruiz offers a simple, yet powerful, framework for breaking free from these limiting beliefs and living with greater awareness, freedom and compassion. Join us for a collaborative discussion of these principles.
