Expand your project management skillset and learn new techniques to plan, initiate and successfully execute future projects with the UCOP Project Management Collection. Series classes include:
- Project Management for Non-Project Managers
- Project Management 1
- Project Management 2
- Smartsheet for Project Management
- Microsoft Projects
While courses may be taken in any order, completion of Project Management 1 is required before taking Project Management 2. These courses are designed to support your learning of project management and are not affiliated with official certifications.

Project Management for Non-Project Managers
Aug. 12, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Whatever your role, chances are that you’re involved with project management on some level. If your primary role isn’t project management, but you’d like to learn more about the fundamentals of project management and how you can apply them to your projects, this is the course for you! While we will cover traditional project management concepts, this session is focused on sharing innovative insights and practical techniques to help you better manage projects of all kinds.
Project Management 1
Sept. 16, Sept. 23 & Sept. 29, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
This engaging three-part course offers a practical and scalable approach to managing projects from initiation through completion. Led by trusted facilitator Raj Kapur, this course features real-world applications, hands-on exercises and collaborative learning to ensure that concepts are immediately transferable to the workplace.
You’ll learn to:
- Apply Project Process Architecture, a proven and adaptable project management methodology toolkit that serves as a learning guide and resource
- Plan, execute and lead projects with clarity and confidence
- Confidently navigate each phase of the project lifecycle
- Incorporate new techniques for building strong teams, managing upward and enhancing your professional presence
