Practice tricky workplace conversations with LinkedIn Learning’s AI Role Play
While we all know the value of having open, honest communication with our colleagues, it can be challenging to initiate a necessary conversation.
Whether you’re trying to tactfully offer peer-to-peer feedback, have a conversation with your manager about your workload or gain buy-in on a new initiative, LinkedIn’s AI Role Play can support your preparation and boost your confidence. Practicing in a low-risk environment can help you clarify your message, test different approaches and hone your emotional regulation.
How AI Role Play works
AI Role Play is a tailored interactive feature available to you through LinkedIn Learning. Follow these simple steps to try it today:
- Choose a scenario
Explore role plays to try a scenario, or create your own. For example: “I need to speak with a team member who has missed multiple deadlines.” - Review the context
LinkedIn Learning will provide background context which you can edit to match your specific situation. Once you feel it’s the right fit, you can start the interaction. - Begin the conversation
Choose whether to have a verbal conversation with the AI character or use written responses. Engage the way you would in a real conversation! - Respond to dynamic reactions
The AI character reacts based on what you say — they may become defensive, open, frustrated, or reflective. - Receive feedback
After the role play, you’ll receive insights on:- Clarity and structure
- Tone and empathy
- Questioning and listening skills
- Impact of your phrasing
- Missed opportunities
Not sure the approach you’ve chosen is right for you? You can repeat the scenario and try a different one.
