January is a good time for staff to review their earnings statements/paystubs to ensure that all deductions/contributions listed are correct and that any Open Enrollment actions are accurately reflected. After 31 years of dedicated service to UC, Dr. Susan A. Wilbur, Director of Undergraduate Admissions, will transition into a much deserved retirement at the end of January. Please join Vice President Judy K. Sakaki & Student Affairs staff in honoring Sue at a reception today, Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. in the Franklin building lobby.

Registration details for Spring Workfit Program – Sign up now!

The Spring 2011 session kicked off Monday January 10 with a try-it-for-free week. No registration is required - just show up in your exercise clothes and be ready to work it. Also, Great news for Franklin WorkFitters: While the former credit union space at Franklin is undergoing remodel, the program will temporarily relocate to the CSU building at 1000 Broadway, Room 1.

Dr. Christopher Harrison will discuss the emerging field of interpersonal neurobiology and provide methods and practices to assist in reclaiming the natural integration of thoughts, emotions, behaviors and relationships. Franklin Building reception desk repositioned for security, traffic flow

The new vantage point provides security personnel a clear line of sight to both the turnstiles and elevators as they check in visitors. It also opens up space along the north wall to improve traffic flow.

Social Security witholding rate reduced in 2011

On December 17, 2010, President Obama signed into law the Tax Relief Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010. Included in the Act is a provision that reduced the social security withholding rate from 6.2% to 4.2% for 2011. This change is effective with paychecks (and direct deposit) issued on or after January 1, 2011.
