After reaching a tentative five-year deal with CUE on wages, benefits and working conditions for its 12,500 clerical employees systemwide, UC has finalized multi-year contracts with its major unions for the first time in many years.
The policy, which applies to professional and support staff in career positions, continues to allow managers to take seniority into account but clarifies that performance should also be carefully considered in determining layoffs or reductions in time.
