New online tools and courses for professional development
The annual performance evaluation process is a good reminder to make professional development a priority, and the UCOP Learning Center offers valuable resources that can help.
Career development programs and courses assist individuals in assessing skills, interests and values and help build additional skills to increase effectiveness and enhance abilities. The Learning and Development webpage is frequently updated with courses and programs for all UCOP employees. Some upcoming course highlights include:
- Accomplishing More With Less
- Write Right and Get to the Point business writing classes
- Excel Pivot Tables
- The new Managing Implicit Bias eCourse series
One new career development resource is My UC Career, an online career development portal available to all UC employees seeking to advance their career. Six self-paced modules help employees discover their internal UC career mobility options, highlight accomplishments and identify how they can achieve their career goals within UC.
For example, My UC Career Assessments help you learn more about your values, interests and personality and identify your strongest skills. With that understanding in hand, you can work on telling your story more effectively, optimizing your social media presence and refining your interview skills. All of the information you share on My UC Career is completely confidential.
To access any of the above visit the UC Learning Center. For questions and assistance, contact the Learning and Development Team.
