Managers’ Corner: Learn how to manage staff leaves and accommodations
If you manage people, chances are that someone on your staff will need a leave or accommodation at some point — for example, they may sustain an injury, need to support an ill family member or have a disability that makes it difficult for them to perform their job.
When your employee comes to you with a request for a leave or accommodation, it’s helpful to be prepared. That’s why the next People Leaders Forum — taking place on Friday, Feb. 10, from 1 – 2 p.m. (PT) — will focus on exactly that.
Accommodation and Leave Services Manager Shannon Brooks will provide a helpful overview of the process, what you need to know and how to best support your employee during the process.
Here’s what previous attendees have shared about Shannon’s presentation:
- “Shannon’s detailed presentation was a highlight. I learned important new information and felt as though I could turn to her for additional support if needed.”
- “This was a very helpful presentation — thorough and easy to follow. It addressed many practical needs.”
- “The break-out sessions for case studies were fun and very helpful!”
- “I loved having an opportunity to talk with my peers, provide scenarios and have an opportunity to ask questions.”
