Newly updated STEP Fundamentals course replaces role-based variations

Learning and Development has launched an updated version of the STEP Fundamentals course, now available in the UC Learning Center.
This required course introduces the UCOP Staff Evaluation Process (STEP) and helps you understand your role —whether you’re an employee or a manager. Along the way, you’ll explore practical strategies for success, including how to set SMART goals and use the GROW framework to guide check-in conversations.
The updated STEP Fundamentals course replaces all previous STEP eCourses, including STEP for Employees, STEP for Managers, STEP for Newly Promoted Managers, and Growing Your Check-In Conversation. It’s easy to access the training you need through one entry point.
If you haven’t completed STEP Fundamentals or Growing Your Check-In Conversation, you’ll need to take this updated course, which is available to all staff as a refresher. The training is self-paced, so you can complete it when it works best for you. You can find STEP Fundamentals in the UC Learning Center under “Required Training.”
A quick note: this course doesn’t cover how to navigate the UCPath ePerformance system. For that, you can watch step-by-step walkthrough videos on the STEP website.
