Build stronger presentations — from slides to speaking skills

Whether you’re leading a meeting, presenting a project update or preparing for a larger audience, strong presentations depend on more than good slides. The most effective presenters know how to organize their ideas, design materials that support their message and connect with the people in the room.

UCOP Learning and Development offers several ways to build these skills, including live courses and LinkedIn Learning collections you can explore at your own pace.

Design slides that share your message

Strong delivery is easier when your slides are clear, polished and purposeful. In PowerPoint Techniques, taking place July 9, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. (PT), participants will explore practical, real-world strategies that go beyond basic slide creation.

Through scenario-based examples — including building a marketing plan, developing content-rich slides and crafting a customizable sales presentation — participants will learn how to design, format and deliver presentations that save time, engage audiences and leave a lasting impression.

Practice connecting with your audience

For many people, public speaking — whether formal or informal — can feel uncomfortable or daunting. Delivery Skills for Connecting with Your Audience offers practical strategies for becoming a more confident and effective presenter.

Join us Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (PT) to identify common anxieties about presenting, learn how to prepare for them and explore presentation styles and techniques that help keep audiences engaged. This interactive session will include time to create a presentation outline and practice new skills in small groups.

Learn at your own pace with LinkedIn Learning

UCOP staff also have free access to LinkedIn Learning, where you can continue building communication and technology skills at your own pace. Learn how to get started, then explore recommended offerings through UCOP Collections, personally compiled by Learning and Development staff.
