FSAP: The Psychology of Journaling and Well-being
May 20, 12 – 1 p.m.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do for ourselves is take a moment to put words to what we’re carrying. This one-hour journaling workshop is open to everyone – whether you’ve kept a journal for years, tried it once and moved on, or have always been a little curious but never quite started. We’ll explore what the science tells us about the benefits of journaling, unpack four different ways to journal and spend time writing together in a space that’s low-pressure and judgment-free.
FSAP: Drowning in To-Do Lists: A New Way to Think About Getting Things Done
May 28, 12– 1 p.m.
Do you have more than one to-do list in more than one place that never seems to get smaller? Many of us want to find a balance with task accomplishment that feels sustainable and fulfilling. In the face of sustained overwhelm, our capacity to manage care tasks at home and work can be impacted. Drawing on current understandings of stress’s impact on regulation and functioning, this webinar will explore reframing care tasks as functional supports, rather than moral measures of worth.
For people managers — People Leader Forum: Coaching and Feedback to Grow Social and Emotional Skills
The People Leaders Forum is a monthly opportunity for people managers to connect with one another to develop leadership skills, build community, share best practices, swap strategies for navigating current challenges and learn to better support themselves and their teams. In May, we will explore how to provide meaningful, actionable feedback that supports the development of social-emotional skills. Many managers find it challenging to guide growth in areas like building positive relationships, navigating emotions and strengthening emotional awareness. This session challenges the belief that these skills are fixed, showing instead that they can be learned and developed over time. Through practical tools, real-world scenarios and concrete strategies, managers will build confidence in coaching and giving feedback that helps individuals grow.
21 Practices for Mindfulness and Happiness at Work
June 2, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Presented by People-On The Go, this workshop helps participants develop and practice mindfulness, emotional intelligence, growth mindset and productivity skills that are crucial in today’s workplace. We’ll focus on prioritizing behavioral changes and initiative-taking while also paying attention to self-care, stress reduction, fostering enjoyment and self-fulfillment. The workshop blends short presentations, interactive exercises and an overview of several mindfulness practices.
How Positive Discourse Shapes the Workplace
June 11, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Positive discourse fosters a receptive environment — a powerful resource and motivator that inspires others to think and act more positively while making our intentions, values and beliefs known to others. As leaders, the language we use can be the difference between a high-functioning and positive environment or high turnover and disgruntlement. We’ll also explore the science of gratitude, define discourse and uncover how it affects teams, identify the language of leadership, and learn steps to shift language for a positive team culture.
Navigating Change and Transitions
June 17, 1 – 3 p.m. — New date!
“The only thing that is constant is change.” — Heraclitus, who lived 100 years before Plato, knew this, and it is still true in today’s world. This workshop will explore the human response to change and stages within the transition process. Participants will expand their capability to successfully navigate through personal and professional changes through the William Bridges’ Transition Model and Psychological Flexibility framework.
For people managers — People Leaders Forum: Supporting Employees in Navigating Change & Transition
