Matthew Leet of Building Services asks that Franklin Building staff go easy on what they put down the garbage disposal to avoid clogging the drains. Please use the compost bins and trash receptacles for all but minimal amounts of food waste.

UC Office of the President employees should be aware that several minor thefts have been reported in the Franklin Building over the past few weeks. Theft reports are relatively rare, said building manager Roman Starno, and his office investigates each one. Nevertheless, employees should be mindful that thefts do occasionally occur.

Check out the display cases near the Franklin lobby elevators for a new display honoring eight black inventors, sponsored by UCOP's Black Staff/Faculty Organization in honor of Black History Month 2011. More posters will be added to the display this week featuring African Americans directly affiliated with UC.
