UC and the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees reach agreement on a deal that covers more than 20,000 employees at UC campuses and medical centers. The contract covers wages, benefits and other matters.

Lawrence Berkeley Lab researcher Saul Perlmutter has won the Nobel Prize for physics for his work with the Supernova Cosmology Project. He is the 57th University of California researcher to win a Nobel Prize.

UCOP’s Flu Shot Clinic is coming to 5320 Franklin on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The clinic is open to all Oakland- and Berkeley-based UCOP staff on a first come, first served basis at a cost of $25.
