June has been serving as interim vice president during the search for a permanent leader.
Craig Leasure will step down as vice president of UC National Laboratories at the end of this month.
Dr. Yu has been executive director for National Laboratories Programs for the last five years and has had a relationship with UC and the national labs for 30 years.
