New upgrade for Oakland focus rooms
The Building and Administrative Service Center (BASC) has installed privacy film on the glass doors of 32 focus rooms in Oakland.
Focus rooms, located throughout both buildings, provide convenient spaces for employees to avoid interruptions while working alone or collaborating with virtual colleagues. Focus rooms do not require reservations and are equipped with a desk, chair, monitor with laptop connections, and Wi-Fi. The new film will help minimize distractions within the rooms, making these spaces more conducive to employees seeking a quiet area to concentrate or have confidential discussions.
Privacy film installation is one of many improvements UCOP has planned to improve physical and virtual workspaces in line with the UCOP FlexWork program. Upcoming projects in Oakland include continuing to upgrade conference rooms with Zoom Room technology and improvements to reflection rooms.
