Learn how to set boundaries and avoid burnout during the holiday season
Are you often the “go-to” person on your workplace team or at home? Do you keep thinking about ways to problem-solve issues long after others have given up? Do you ever just need a minute? If so, you might be a highly skilled person who is also at high risk for burnout — especially during this time of year.
Being excellent doesn’t have to include burnout. Taking time for yourself and setting boundaries during times of stress can drastically improve your well-being and interpersonal relationships.
On Friday, Nov. 15, from 12 – 1 p.m. (PT), join Brian Beasley, Psy.D., J.D., and Jessica Allanson, Ph.D. clinical psychologists from the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), for a virtual self-care workshop — Burnout or Boundaries: A Post-Election Holiday Season Survival Guide.
During this virtual session, we will explore psychological theories and skills that can help you define and communicate your personal limits during the post-election holiday season. Together, we will:
- Review and debunk common myths about burnout and boundary-setting
- Understand how to create circumstances and build skills that allow us to be most effective at home and at work
- Create individualized plans to prepare ourselves for interactions around the holiday season
